Do nutritional supplements raise activity and vitality?

 Do nutritional supplements ra

ise activity and vitality?

 There are a lot of herbs, vitamins and supplements that are said to increase the level of energy. How true is this?

 The truth is that most of these things are not based on scientific facts, but there are some that are medically recognized.  Examples include:

 1- Ginkgo biloba: It was also known as the Tree of Life because it was the only tree that survived in Hiroshima after the atomic bombing in Japan.

 The ginkgo tree is one of the oldest trees on the face of the earth, and it is one of the trees that resist conditions, no matter what happens around it, and it is said that it can be planted anywhere in the world.

 The length of this tree is from 30 to 40 meters. The ancient Chinese benefited from this tree, and it has been of great interest to them for more than a thousand years;  This tree has many benefits using its leaves and extracts.

 It has several benefits such as:

 Treating poor blood circulation in the brain, as it strengthens blood circulation in the brain, which means greater nutrition, stronger memory and concentration.

 Maintain blood flow to the nervous system well.

 High value in the treatment of asthma.

 antispasmodic;

 Anti-inflammatory.

 lowers blood pressure;

 Inhibit atherosclerosis.

 It is very useful in treating dementia.

 Reduces the possibility of a stroke.

 Used in the treatment of urinary incontinence.

 Anti-oxidant, thus fighting cancer.

 However, it is not recommended for patients who use anticoagulants such as aspirin, heparin and warfarin

 2- Ginseng: It is a famous plant, as its promoters claim that it has special benefits for rejuvenation.  Ginseng is served in Korea in different forms. It is served fresh with food, cooked or served as a drink and its extract is presented in the form of pills.

 There is ginseng in addition to Korea in Japan, China, the United States of America and Russia, but the Korean ginseng is the most famous and the best.

 But there is still no actual evidence to prove that it reduces fatigue and tiredness, but it is considered a safe herb in general.

 3-Chromium picolinate is a chemical compound with the formula Cr(C6H4NO2)3, in the form of jumbo red crystals.  It is a synergistic complex used primarily to prevent or treat chromium deficiency (chromium deficiency).  The body needs small amounts of chromium in order to perform insulin in the body, but chromium deficiency is very rare, and is only observed in hospital patients who are on a specific long-term diet.  No biochemical base that requires chromium in the human body has been detected.

 Some commercial organizations have made advertisements showing that the use of chromium picolinate helps in building the body for athletes and have shown it as a way to lose weight, but many studies have shown that there is no role for chromium picolinate in muscle growth or fat loss.

 4- Vitamin B12: Some people use this vitamin for energy, but its real effect appears only when there is a shortage in your stock of it, and this can be proven by a medical examination where a blood sample is taken and examined under the microscope.

 5- Creatine: This substance is produced by the body and is present in the muscles of the body, and it is also manufactured, and there is evidence of its effectiveness in building and amplifying muscles if combined with exercise, and it is considered beneficial for young people, but it is not so for the elderly.

 6- Coenzyme Q-10 is a vitamin-like substance, its effects in the body are similar to the effects of vitamin E, and may even be stronger as an antioxidant. It is also called ubiquinone.  There are ten substances of coenzyme Q, but coenzyme Q-10 is the only type of coenzyme that is found in the tissues of the human body.

 This substance plays a vital role in the production of energy in every cell in the body.  It helps blood circulation, activates the immune system, increases oxygen intake to tissues, and has biological anti-aging effects.  And there is a link between coenzyme Q-10 deficiency and the occurrence of diseases surrounding the teeth, diabetes and lack of muscle growth.

 Research has shown that Coenzyme Q-10 supplements have the ability to act as an antihistamine, which is why they are beneficial for people with allergies, asthma, or respiratory conditions.  Many doctors use it to treat mental function disorders such as those associated with schizophrenia and Alzheimer's disease.  It is also useful in treating obesity, Candida infection (a fungal disease), multiple sclerosis and diabetes.

 This enzyme is very useful, especially for heart patients who exercise, as it helps to raise their fitness, and helps patients with chronic fatigue, but its effectiveness as an energy source has not been proven so far.

 In general, these substances are considered supplements, nothing more, and they cannot be replaced by natural methods such as rest, sleep and healthy food, and their value is not in themselves, but rather the accompanying healthy eating habits and behaviors.
