What are the symptoms of hypoglycemia?


 Many diabetics take medicines to avoid high blood sugar, and the damage that results from it, and these medicines are very effective in lowering the level of diabetes.

 But many of these drugs may lead to the opposite of the problem, where a severe drop in the level of sugar in the blood occurs, and this is not good either, as it causes slight symptoms at first, but if the sugar drops more than that, the issue may be very serious, as it begins with agitation  Strangeness of the person and confusion in thinking and then rapidly progressing to lead to convulsions or loss of consciousness and possibly coma.

 The causes of hypoglycemia for diabetic patients vary, as diabetes medications such as insulin, sulfonylureas, and glinides are considered major causes, to which other reasons are added, such as excessive exercise, missing a meal, or even an excessive dose of medication.

 Therefore, it is important to recognize the signs of hypoglycemia so that it can be treated before it turns into a life-threatening crisis. These signs are:-

 1- Panic and fear.

 2- Weakness.

 3- Hunger.

 4- Dizziness or dizziness.

 5- trembling

 6- Sweating.

 7- Rapid heartbeat.

 8- Feeling cold and clammy in the extremities.

 9- frenzy,

 10- Confusion.

 11- drowsiness

 12- Difficulty speaking.

 13- Double vision.

 If you feel any of the above symptoms, do not feel afraid, you do not need a doctor, you can treat yourself by yourself, all you have to do is eat some sugar 10-15 grams is considered enough, equivalent to half a can of soft drink approximately 180 ml or equivalent to a cup  of milk, (generally two tablespoons of sugar).

 But you must remember not to have too much sugar, and as the saying goes (if something exceeds its limit, it will turn against it). If you increase sugar, this leads to a rise in the level of sugar, which brings us back to square one, and this is harmful to your health.

 It is always better to always carry some dry sugar with you so that you can face a drop in your blood sugar for any reason, and always make sure to monitor your blood sugar level.
